Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT, is a form of counselling that focusses on how your thoughts and emotions influence your behaviours. It's very practical and collaborative, we work together to help you through your difficulties.

Evidence is very important in CBT. There is a lot of research out there to demonstrate its effectiveness as a counselling intervention and I would encourage you to have a look at that. We also look for evidence with the work we do in sessions - using rating and scaling of issues at the start and then revisiting them through our sessions to check progress.

Considering Counselling for the first time?

Thinking about going for counselling can be scary; I know that, I've been there.

When I hit a few bumps in the road I took some convincing that counselling was what I needed. Why would I go and tell everything to a complete stranger? It felt completely alien to me . But I knew I needed to do something, so I tried it and then it clicked. My counsellor was friendly, supportive and gently challenging. Gradually I realised that I did actually feel better and the clouds started to lift.

My positive experience with counselling has left me passionate and able to help others.
